Boxcar joins the fleet…..
I’ve just received a great find on eBay with a car I’ve been looking for to run on my module, especially since I model Penn Central. This P&LE car is an Athearn Genesis series car. I’ll weather this one up soon… Continue reading

Another car finished….
Here is the latest car finished, a Walther’s car I believe. Car sides, ends, roof, and underside are all lightly weathered with primarily a dirt colored overspray with some spots of rust here and there. New wheels and Kadee couplers were installed as well. Soon to go on eBay…. Continue reading

Updated weathering….!
I didn’t quite like all the weathering done on the ex-BN covered hopper I previously posted, so I added a bit more! I patched out the Burlington Northern roadname , one side with paint, and one side with patch out decals by Smokebox Graphics.. I then lightly sprayed some rust paint over these to blend… Continue reading

Current project….
My current project involves reworking the weathering on this coil car from Walther’s. Several different mediums were used on this guy, along with lube stencils and ACI panels added. Note the texture on the one rusted hood! I’m now just awaiting the arrival of another Walther’s coil car kit to replace the small panels the… Continue reading

Current project….
One of my current projects is reworking this BN covered hopper. I’ve had this car for awhile so don’t recall the manufacturer. The car only had a light weathering as shown below while on my eBay store: I decided to take it off eBay temporarily to rework the weathering on the car. In doing some… Continue reading

New addition….
I recently picked up this previously weathered model on eBay, as I wanted this particular railroad and the boxcar seemed to be fairly nicely weathered. Sometimes though looks are deceiving. Upon receiving the car I noticed in starting to tweak the weathering that I’d have to rework quite a bit on the car. This I… Continue reading

Side project today….
Now for sale on my eBay store. This is an HO scale Intermountain 3 bay hopper with upgraded weathering just completed today. Rust and rust spots added, a thin spray of dirt on the top to tone everything down, hatch brackets/latches rusted, and what I call “texture weathering “ applied to the underside. Enlarge the… Continue reading

Narrow gauge time….
It’s back to weathering some more narrow gauge equipment for a local modeler and friend, in this case, several Blackstone locomotives. On this first one, I’ve faded the black paint., rusted up the couplers, sprayed a light grey over the drivers and pilot to simulate road dust, highlighted the smokebox with some gun metal paint,… Continue reading

Sometimes….
Sometimes you find a great catch online somewhere, in this case on eBay. Found this car for s great price and won the bid for this guy. I didn’t quite like the whitish appearance though it had streaked down the sides from the rusted top, so I addressed this with some rust powder. I also… Continue reading
