We’re back at work again , this time on third trick, with myself, Charlie as engineer, Jimmy as conductor, Dan as fireman, and Fred as second brakeman, so a full 5 man crew tonight.
First up, we’re going to pull cars from the loading/unloading track out onto the main for the local to take back to Riverside yard, then we’re spotting cars on the holding track over to the loading/unloading track. This action is shown below:

Dawn has broken as now we’re spotting all the inbound cars into Monsanto as shown below. In these photos you’ll catch Jimmy on the ground checking out the switch list, myself riding the front of 8806, with Dan and Charlie inside the cab. Fred is pretty much out of view in these photos, as he was on the other side of the cuts of cars we were spotting:

In the photos above the crew of the local on 5628 are helping as well by shoving the inbound cars back to us as well as of course taking our outbound cars back to the yard. It’s been a long night for all of us as we finish up headed to the diner over across the tracks for breakfast!
