Details definitely make a layout. Details set the tone and era for a layout. Details can create separate little scenes on a layout. That’s my intention with this module. It definitely isn’t much of a model railroad, but one must make do with what space you have.
This past week I’ve been finding more details to add to the layout, to create mini scenes on the module. My intention when finished is to make this module look like a congested, dirty, old industrial area of the 1970’s.
Among the details I’ve added which you’ll see below are weeds, scrap, fire hydrants, trees, people, plenty of vehicles, roll off dumpsters, etc, etc. more of the chemical tanks have been painted and weathered with some ladders still to be installed. One area I’ll dirty up further is the scrapyard with some oil soaked ground and more trash with some probably outside the scrapyard alongside the tracks. I’m also considering putting some weeds climbing up the scrapyard fence in some places. More photos will follow, but for now here are quite a few photos of recent work!
