This is actually a most recent piece of commission work for a modeler in Arkansas, this Athearn Frisco SW1500. This guy was done with acrylic paints, wash, pigments, and actual soot on the exhaust stacks:

I’ve finished this car I posted on earlier and will be on eBay on Friday. The other side of the car I’ve left fairly clean I guess you’d say ( not as grimy as the other side of the prototype) , but of course still faded. The reweigh decal says…

I’ve started on the next project for eBay, this Moloco 50’ Wabash insulated boxcar. I’m trying to replicate the prototype photo shown. So far I think it’s a fairly good representation. More photos when the car is finished:

Here is the current project I’m working on instead of the BAR boxcar posted previously. I had a short break in between commission work, so decided to whip this guy out pretty quick. This is one of the Tangent X58 boxcars that are now pretty scarce, especially this PRR scheme.…

The Tangent PRR car is now finished and in service on the layout! This guy was completed with four colors of acrylic paint, Pan pastels, two colors of pigments and Vallejo rust texture. Photos below of the finished product:

I have today upgraded the weathering on my Rapido hopper I currently have up for sale on eBay by adding rust to the roof and sides:

Currently underway is work on five models including the first one, which is this Atlas Trainman series bulkhead flat. Almost finished, this car has acrylic paints, brown wash, rust texture, and five colors of pigments, four alone on the deck. Next up is probably one of two autoracks ….

I’ve changed the name of the layout to the Penn Central in Cincinnati to better describe the area modeled, which is an industrial area along the Ohio River west of downtown Cincinnati….

One of the most recent projects was this Walthers Mainline series N&W reefer. This was faded using Vallejo blue grey plus a touch of white acrylic, then going back over the lettering. Rust texture and some weathering powder was also used to finish up:
