Well, it’s back to work on the railroad. Today it’s Charlie as engineer, myself as brakeman, and Jimmy as conductor, plus we have Chris along as flagman. We have a long day today as we’re working all the local industries except for Sullivan scrap and McGraw fuel and oil.
Our first order of business is getting our old workhorse fired up and ready to pull some cars from Armitage Furniture and the team track. As we’ve got a full crew today some of us are going to be enjoying the wind in our faces. I would have said fresh air but we’re also going to be working Monsanto Chemical so we’ll have an odor to deal with.
So after firing up 8806 our first moves are to pull a loaded PRR boxcar of furniture from Armitage plus an empty N&W reefer from Stephen’s Grocery distributors, then we’re going to spot a hot car for Stephen’s brought out from Riverside yard, an EL reefer, photos below:

We’re having to leave the PC boxcar on the team track as the company isn’t finished unloading this guy yet.
After setting out the PRR boxcar and the N&W reefer we’re going to take a break for lunch, then tackle Monsanto. What we need to do there is to pull two empty tank cars, then respot the holding track cars to the loading/unloading track. We’ll cover this in the next installment….
