With a move to a different place in 2022 that has an internal garage, I obviously lost the space for my layout, now only having a separate den for both a layout and workshop. In measuring the dimensions I found I could use two modules from my layout in one side of my den. I picked the two best modules in my opinion that could give me the most switching options, and which I could also use to display my finished weathered models. The other side of the den I had to fit my work area into. Photos below show the empty den and my now workshop area:

Here’s the current work area:

On the other side is of course my two modules of the current layout below:

The current layout is complete with the exception of more signage which will be added at some point. My current operations are with the ops buddy program spreadsheets used with rolling a 20 sided die to decide which of the six industries get switched and what type of cars they will receive each session.
As I posted in another blog post, I couldn’t at first decide whether to carry on the new layout as a continuation of my West Virginia Hitop branch, or model a small freelanced version of the PC in Cincinnati. I decided on my hometown of Cincinnati and the area out along the Ohio River west of the downtown area. This area was where the PC and B&O paralleled each other. I also decided on this area as I have a Proto B&O SW8 and 1965 scheme Tangent B&O caboose. My Penn Central power consists of an older Atlas GP7 and soon a Walther’s NW2 switch engine.
Finally, my last major project on the new Cincinnati Terminal Subdivision was the addition of Woodland Scenic plug and play lights. My eventual goal is to once again have my layout published to basically show what you can do on a small shelf type layout, mine measuring only two by eight feet! In the meantime I’ll continue to post once a week scenes from the layout, primarily my older Hitop branch. I’ll finish up with nighttime operations on my current layout below:
