The Weathering Depot

I have been weathering mainly HO Scale model trains since 2009 for fellow modelers and family. I specialize in freight cars, especially rust buckets. I do anything from light to heavy weathering using a variety of different mediums, sometimes three or four on a single car. I take care with models, therefore a model may take me a week plus. Module work….

I didn’t like the sudden transition to the Arizona Rock & Mineral limestone ballast on the module, so I spent the morning painting over it to try to match their yard mix ballast on the rest of the modules, then weathered a bit of it per a video I came across on YouTube. Used a marker as well to get the grey tie plus brown for several new ties. Different Vallejo paint colors were used. I may still dry brush some warm grey over the painted area. I think I came pretty close to matching the yard mix ballast. Last photo shows the limestone ballast:
