Next car for my local friend and client is this hopper patched for SSW. I started on this one by matching the paint a bit lighter then fading the car.
This is still a work in progress, so I’ll have more photos when finished. But for now, here’s what I did to the rest of the car. The sides were dabbed with rust color acrylic and while wet, had rust powder applied with most being streaked lightly down the car sides. Individual rust spots were then applied.
The car roof was over sprayed with both a rust and dirt brown color then a rust texture was applied to the roof walk, then sealed. The other areas on top of the roof especially between the hatches were done with a diluted rust texture followed by rust powder applied while wet. When this technique is used it gives the appearance and feel of actual rust. Below are photos of the car’s progress as of today. More to come….
