The Weathering Depot

I have been weathering mainly HO Scale model trains since 2009 for fellow modelers and family. I specialize in freight cars, especially rust buckets. I do anything from light to heavy weathering using a variety of different mediums, sometimes three or four on a single car. I take care with models, therefore a model may take me a week plus. Please check out my work here on my page. My price varies as to how much weathering is requested. I will also for an extra labor and parts charge change out couplers and wheels. My fees and hours are on the "contact me" tab.

Evolution of a patched hopper…

Today I thought I’d write a short blog post showing a car I did perhaps a year and a half ago for another friend and local modeler. This is I believe a Tangent car.

The hopper is an ex-PC then ConRail car, patched for RFMX. Obviously as shown the old Penn Central lettering is showing through along with the CR logo which had to be covered over and masked. Other areas were also patched and re-stenciled. This car took about two weeks to do with all the different mediums, patchwork, and decal work. Hope you enjoy the photos!
