Well, we’re back to work the next day, another fortune first trick shift. Today it’s the crew of myself, Jimmy, Dan, and Charlie as engineer.
We’ve got our work cut out for us today, as we’re finishing up yesterday’s work plus switching Monsanto. First, after breakfast at the diner across the tracks, we fire up old 8806:

I left out a few photos from yesterday’s work, as we pulled the empty PC boxcar off the team track, spotted the EEC boxcar, then tied the PC boxcar onto the local’s caboose. That’s me btw hanging onto the EEC boxcar!

Next, we pull into McGraw to pull the empty Gulf tank car and spot the car of fuel oil, then couple the Gulf tank car onto the local:

Next work is we’re going to pull all but one tank car from the loading/unloading track at Monsanto, spot them on the main for the local to back down onto them, then move the cars from the holding track over. This sequence is shown below:

Our work this day is over as we park 8806 and shut her down. Time to head for home!

In reality, on the layout, all this switching took about 45 + minutes, as I run at a prototypical speed, plus give time for uncoupling, air tests, firing up the locomotive, etc….
