The Weathering Depot

I have been weathering mainly HO Scale model trains since 2009 for fellow modelers and family. I specialize in freight cars, especially rust buckets. I do anything from light to heavy weathering using a variety of different mediums, sometimes three or four on a single car. I take care with models, therefore a model may take me a week plus. Please check out my work here on my page. My price varies as to how much weathering is requested. I will also for an extra labor and parts charge change out couplers and wheels. Another recent project….

Here again is another recent project that just sold on eBay! This guy was purchased new off eBay from a local modeler. This is an Atlas 50’ ft boxcar , and below is how it looked out of the box. Actually, photo below as it appears after a fade coat!

This one really turned out well in the end and was very pleased with it, as is the buyer! To keep this short, I used six different mediums on this car. Again, to keep it short , I’ll simply show photos of progress along the way plus the finished car before it was sold:
