As I posted in the Facebook group I am moving everything to this website after my podcast on May 2nd.
I’ll still have The Weathering Depot Instagram account and I may open an account on X for The Weathering Depot as well. This will be a much better set up all around for me as I’ve grown tired of Facebook and their constant meddling, plus I’m going to concentrate on this website I’m paying for and which I’ve put a lot of work into.
With that said, not only will this website cover weathering projects which I’m still very much open to commission work and happy to do, but I’ll cover the current layout, plus stories of my time on the Indiana and Ohio railroad.
One other point here this morning. I still have my eBay account under The Weathering Depot as well, but currently do not have any offerings for sale. I will probably rarely use this account for selling going forward as for one, the fees that eBay charges, the state taxes where I live have increased as well as postage and shipping fees have increased and I’ve been informed will increase again this year, so it’s basically detrimental to even attempt to sell anything at a competitive price to make any money, unless I charge considerably more. This i won’t do as I’ve never gouged any buyers with high prices for my work. In other words, I charge $45, $55, and $65 per car depending on amount of weathering, NOT $250 and up as I’ve seen. On that note, there are just too many people doing and selling weathered cars on eBay right now as well, and like any other business platform, there is quality, and there is junk.
So for my followers who are outside the United States, I do and have done work for a couple of modelers in the UK. So I can, unlike eBay, ship to international locations, as I use Square payment systems, then any shipping service requested. I say this about eBay and the UK especially as eBay would not allow me to ship to the UK for whatever reason.
So, continue to hopefully look me up and contact me for those weathering jobs you’d like done, and thanks to all who are following the group and this website, and to those future followers!
