The Weathering Depot

I have been weathering mainly HO Scale model trains since 2009 for fellow modelers and family. I specialize in freight cars, especially rust buckets. I do anything from light to heavy weathering using a variety of different mediums, sometimes three or four on a single car. I take care with models, therefore a model may take me a week plus. Please check out my work here on my page. My price varies as to how much weathering is requested. I will also for an extra labor and parts charge change out couplers and wheels. Quick side project….

Here’s a quick side project I started on to weather up this forgotten piece of rolling stock soon to go on eBay. This is an older Accurail car I’ve had for some time with very limited weathering. I decided to enhance the weathering by doing the car ends, underside, and adding rust and dirt to the roof and car sides. Below is a photo of the car side as it looked before I started, with the other photo of the other side after weathering today. I need to also do the trucks and wheels plus add lube stencils. More coming when this guy is finished!
