The Weathering Depot

I have been weathering mainly HO Scale model trains since 2009 for fellow modelers and family. I specialize in freight cars, especially rust buckets. I do anything from light to heavy weathering using a variety of different mediums, sometimes three or four on a single car. I take care with models, therefore a model may take me a week plus. Please check out my work here on my page. My price varies as to how much weathering is requested. I will also for an extra labor and parts charge change out couplers and wheels. My fees and hours are on the "contact me" tab.

Recent work….

Sorry I haven’t posted here lately, as I’ve been busy with my eBay store, my Facebook page by the same name, and actually a new career that takes up quite a bit of my time!

Recently I finished up a project that immediately sold on my eBay store, along with my ex-AN , now TASD boxcar. This car was an Evolution series car by ExactRail, a rare car to find that I found brand new in box from a hobby store on eBay. Photo below of the car right out of the box:

I decided to keep this car as an Ann Arbor car, but just fade it and weather it a bit. Not every car I do is a rust bucket or needs to be!! The car is thoroughly weathered including the underside with my “texture weathering”.

On this car I used some new to me modeling mediums, namely some paints by Tamiya plus their flat base which I used this time to fade the car. I also used some oils that I hadn’t used in quite some time plus powders on the roof of the car. I really think the car turned out nicely! Photos below of the finished car:
