I have been weathering mainly HO Scale model trains since 2009 for fellow modelers and family. I specialize in freight cars, especially rust buckets. I do anything from light to heavy weathering using a variety of different mediums, sometimes three or four on a single car. I take care with models, therefore a model may take me a week plus. Please check out my work here on my page. My price varies as to how much weathering is requested. I will also for an extra labor and parts charge change out couplers and wheels. My fees and hours are on the "contact me" tab.
Quick project….
Here’s a quick little project I was able to do in one day, in between projects for clients. This Railbox car had been lightly weathered previously. This go round I simply applied a brown wash to the sides and while still wet, lightly dabbed some dirt colored powder onto the sides then evenly spread it out with a fan brush. This gave the car I think an accumulated grime look:
Welcome to my site! I’ve been a model railroader since the age of 14, and a railfan all my life! I’m retired now but have traveled all over on both Amtrak and tourist railroads plus steam excursions. My layouts have been published twice, and I started weathering work in 2009. I have also worked for a regional railroad in the past as first a brakeman/conductor then track inspector. Hope you enjoy the journey with me on my website!
