Here we continue on first trick with the local area based locomotive NW2 8806 switching the inbound and outbound cars the local has brought out from Riverside yard.
Today’s crew includes Charlie as engineer, Fred as conductor, and Jimmy as brakeman on 8806’s crew. Of course the local has the usual five man crew.
The crew today starts at McGraw fuel and oil by pulling the empty tank car of fuel oil out of the siding and tacking it onto waiting GP7 5628:

The crew on 8806 then pulls back into the siding to allow 5628 to back down into Sullivan scrap to pull two loaded gons out:

The crew on the local then pulls up in the clear so Charlie and the crew on 8806 can pull back out of the siding at McGraw, head down the main, then pull in to switch Armitage Furniture and Stephen’s Grocery distributors, pulling a loaded PC boxcar plus an empty Southern reefer:

Charlie and crew then tie both these cars onto the waiting local:

8806 then ties on the PC caboose to finish so the local can depart back to the yard after its air test:

With the local gone, Charlie and crew head back down to the team track and pick up the Milwaukee boxcar that had been in the off spot position and move it over to Stephen’s dock, apparently a load of canned goods:

With this work done, the crew parks 8806 by Armitage as they head over to the diner for lunch:

Coming back from lunch the crew climbs back onboard 8806 and heads back out onto the main to pick up and spot two gons at Sullivan scrap that the local brought in:

With their work finished for now, the crew heads back and parks 8806 back over by Armitage Furniture:

Stay tuned for the next installment when I’m back on the second trick crew after our rest…..
