Today we’re switching out Monsanto Chemical. As 8806 is basically assigned to the industrial area out along the Ohio here, there’s always a local out of Riverside yard that brings inbound cars and then of course takes the outbound cars back to the yard.

So today we start with the local on second trick bringing in the inbound tank cars as seen below. It’s dusk btw when we started today:

It looks like the Sedamsville local has an ex Pennsylvania cabin repainted in PC green. It also appears the third car in is a loaded car of fuel oil going into McGraw.

As the local shoves the inbounds down the main, our crew gets started with 8806, which has been parked over near Armitage Furniture:

Street lights are already coming on as dusk is here. We’re going to pull out onto the main first, tie onto the local’s caboose, uncouple that tank of fuel oil, then shove it into McGraw fuel and oil. I’m on the ground today at this point doing the honors:

After spotting the tank car at McGraw, Charlie is going to shove that rear tank car back onto the local’s cut, however, we’re going to pull their caboose down onto Stephen’s Grocery distributors end of the siding and tie it onto that empty reefer that was finally released, as it’s going back on the local to Riverside:

As we’re limited for space at the end of track down by Monsanto, 5628 is going to shove a car down to end of track and trade out one or two out bound cars, which is going to take awhile. Good thing we brought our lunches! Photos of all this work is seen below. Btw, we’re pulling cars out of the loading/unloading track, then we’ll switch the holding track cars over one, and spot the new inbounds on the holding track:

To also save some track space, 5628 shoved two of our inbound tanks down into Sullivan scrap:

Last but not least in this part, we’re going to head down to Stephen’s to pick up that PC reefer and caboose, but first we’re going to move that N&W reefer over to Stephen’s loading dock:

And finally, we’re pulling the PC car and caboose back out onto the main to tie them back on the local’s cut so they can depart for Riverside:

That’s it for part 1. Stay tuned for part two after we finish up with spotting our inbound cars at dark  after we take a dinner break…..
